Installation Ceremony of �Amadeus� �First Class� Training Software at IBAISU CRS Lab 

On August 25, 2008, �Amadeus� �First Class� Training Software was installed at  the CRS Lab of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, IBAIS University. At the installation ceremony, Dr. Zakaria Lincoln, President & Acting Vice-Chancellor, IBAIS University; Mr. Alaul Haq Candy, Manager, Operations Department, Amadeus; Mr. Jafar Iqbal Jami, Assistant Manager, Products & Training, Amadeus and Mr. Md. Salaudding Khasru, Assistant Manager, Sales, Amadeus were present. It should be mentioned that the �First Class� CRS software of �Amadeus� is used by more than seventy airlines, fifty thousand five star hotels and resorts in the whole world which is sixty percent of the world market. And IBAIS University is the first university in Bangladesh which is using �Amadeus� �First Class� Training Software to train the students of the department of Tourism and Hotel Management. As a result, IBAISU Tourism and Hotel Management graduates would get the chance to make them qualified to compete in the world job market. Among others, Mr. Hasan, Head, Dept. of Tourism & Hotel Management; Mr. Malay Sarker; Mr. Niranjon Shil, faculty members of Dept. of Tourism & Hotel Management; were present.

Scholarship Awarding Ceremony 

On August 30, 2008, IBAIS University arranged a scholarship awarding ceremony for the meritorious students of the academic year of 2006-07 at IBAIS University auditorium. In the ceremony, under the categories Student of the Year, Certificate of Distinction, Deans Award, total 148 students were awarded with 233 certificates and cheques of total Tk. 5,00,000. The program was presided over by Dr. Zakaria Lincoln, President & Acting Vice-Chancellor, IBAIS University. Professor Nazrul Islam, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest and Professor Durgadas Bhattacharjee was present as the guest of honour. The Chief Guest, in his speech, suggested the faculty members as well as the students to be conscious to uplift the education system of Bangladesh up to International Standard. He said that there is no limit of self development. He also suggested the students to be well educated to work for the country. On the other hand, Dr. Zakaria Lincoln, in his speech said that IBAIS University believes in �Total Quality Education� in respect of quality of the students, quality of the teachers, teacher-student ratio, syllabus & curriculum etc. Among others, Professor Dr. Khandaker Rezaur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Arts; Professor Dr. M. Nasim Anjum, Dean, Faculty of Business; Professor Dr. Parimal Chandra Datta, Registrar and Mr. Shaikh M. Alauddin, Controller of Examinations were also present in the ceremony. The program was conducted by Ms. Farzana Parvin, Lecturer, Dept. of English, IBAIS University.

Orientation of IBAIS University YES Group

 On November 02, 2008, IBAIS University YES Group started its journey with the slogan �Durjoy Tarunya Durniti Rukhbei�. This is an organization formed with the help of Transparency International Bangladesh. The Orientation ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. Khandker Rezaur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Head, Dept. of English. In the ceremony, the speakers stated the causes and bad effects of corruption. They also discussed on the possible means of preventing corruptions and on the steps the students might take to stand against corruptions. Mrs. Farzana Parvin, Senior Lecturer, Dept. of English, IBAIS University; Mr, Sazzad Hossain, Mr. Shamim Akhtar, Mr. Zahidul Islam, Senior Advocacy Executive, Transparency International Bangladesh, Mr. Md. Reza-e-Rabbi and Jannatul Ferdous Priyanka, member, IBAISU Yes Group delivered their speeches. The program was conducted by Ms. Geeta Adhikari, Senior Schedule Executive, Transparency International Bangladesh.
